HOW WOULD THE SELANGOR RULER DECIDE?

Embattled Selangor MB (chief minister) Khalid Ibrahim was today reported that he would have an audience with the Selangor Ruler tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, Aug 26).

The PAS leadership was also reported to let the Selangor Ruler, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah decide who will be the next menteri besar (MB), report The Star online

Meanwhile, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim is hopeful the Sultan of Selangor would meet his wife Wan Azizah after having confirmed receipt of 30 statutory declaration (SDs) signed by Selangor state assemblymen supporting his wife's nomination for the MB post. More, here

Whether the Sultan see it (the SDs) sufficient or not, whether there would be vote of no-confidence or not, in the event dissolution of the state assembly is imminent, the rakyat (people) of Selangor should take it not only with an open-chest, but open mind.

Should the Selangor people appreciate and treasure the value of democratic process, they must not only defend it, but participate in it.

Thus, should the state assembly is dissolved, they (Selangor voters) have the moral responsibility of turning out in full force, translating their voice over the crisis through their votes.

If indeed, PKR in particular and PR in general, still enjoy the people's support after their implementation of the Kajang Move plan, there is no reason voters would shy away from giving their continued support.

And in the event PKR/PR (People's Justice Party/People's Pact) fail to maintain current no of seats secured in 13th general election (GE13), it could be construed being people's disagreement to their plan and agenda.

More so if PKR fail to contain it's current 13 seats, it would be the clearest indication of Selangor people's disagreement with the party's continuation of it's Kajang Move plan, including the nomination of Azizah to be the next MB for Selangor replacing Khalid.

People of Selangor the voters in particular, should not be overly sensitive to statements and remarks that the the dissolution of the Assembly would be undemocratic and a waste of public fund.

Isn't the unseating of former Kajang assemblyman Lee Chin Cheh without valid reason(s) undemocratic? and a waste of public fund?

So much about the convention have been said - That in accordance to convention, the leader of a coalition or alliance pact would recommend and endorse a candidate (an assemblyman/woman) who command the majority support from all lawmakers in the state assembly.

As the popular saying goes,"Rules are made to be broken."

True enough, history tells us that the convention has been broken. Remember Terengganu, Perlis and Perak?

The two cases involving Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen and the Perak change of government?

Talking about convention too, is Tony Pua (who many likened him of Tian Chua of PKR),"By convention, when a leader loses the confidence of his party it is only right that he steps down from his official government position," said Petaling Jaya MP from DAP.

Many said - by convention, an elected assemblyman/woman too should not be "forced" to vacate his/her seat without valid reason(s).

When PAS' special central committee meeting this morning (August 25) took a stance of leaving it (to decide who should be Selangor next MB) to the Selangor Ruler, PAS is again, criticized.

Pas is pictured as a party that cannot be trusted, not understanding the rules of coalition politics and worse, it is prepared to go beyond the law to get it's way, report The Malaysian Insider

Isn't Anwar is prepared to go the extra mile in getting PAS to only endorse his wife's nomination?

To PKR & DAP critics in particular, little do they make mention of the Kajang Move which rooted the Selangor political turmoil.

Little or none did they make mention, let alone admit that PAS was not informed at the "launching" of  the Kajang Move that it was to change the incumbent MB of Selangor.

And worst, there is no "public apology" from top PKR and DAP leadership of how much PKR's Kajang Move has affected the administration of state and it's people.

Stopping at nothing, PKR and particularly Anwar (supported by DAP) going all-out to ensure only Azizah would be made MB of Selangor.

PAS has been call with "names" when it's request is only to have an alternate name to go along with Azizah for the post of MB.

Thus rise the question; is this a "do or die" bid by Anwar himself to ensure his future political survival remained hopeful?

Selangor voters would have the opportunity to have their voice heard should there be a fresh polls. It would be equally interesting to see how Selangor voters viewed the whole crisis.
