A "BOLLYWOOD FILM" AFFAIRS?

As I have said, TS Khalid will eventually have to resign especially when PKR and DAP have managed to get two PAS' reps, Hulu Klang assemblyman Saari Sungip and it's Morib assemblyman Hasnul Baharuddin who stated their stand via statutory declarations declaring their support for Dr Wan Azizah to replace Khalid.

Azizah now has 30 assemblymen behind her and logically, she dominates confidence of the Assembly, but an assembly sitting must first be called and a motion of no-confidence passed to enable all 56 assemblymen to vote on whether Khalid still enjoy confidence of the State Legislative Assembly as he had earlier claimed.

However, the two PAS' reps were given 24-hours to retract their stand for supporting Azizah. Selangor PAS Secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the party viewed seriously the breach of party discipline by the duo, report The Star. Two PAS reps given 24-hours to retract Wan Azizah support

But since they have indicated their willingness to go Independent over their support for Azizah, I think, they are now considering of joining PKR or DAP instead of being an Independent.

One thing is certain, their future with PAS would not be rosy as before, even if they choose to stay. They could even be sidelined as next election candidate under PAS' banner.

The duo who were reported not shaken for their decision to support Azizah even when PAS meeting is couple of days away (Sunday) puzzles many people.

There are questions if PAS would bear with the duo since their acts samples insubordination to party rules and regulations.

"The two acted independently without heeding the party's directive." said Khairuddin in a statement.

PAS said they breached party discipline... won't PKR and DAP censure the two?

At this  stage, it is not known how would HRH Sultan Sharafuddin reacts to this latest development as His Royal Highness is on 2 weeks overseas trip and is scheduled to return on Aug 23.

Until then (at-least), Khalid could still hang on to his position as MB (chief minister) of Selangor. Prior to leaving for overseas, the Sultan had categorized Khalid's sacking by his former party PKR an internal party matter and that does not affect his position as Selangor's MB.

For now, PR has 'won' with their mission to force Khalid to relinquish his position, but nobody, not even Azizah herself is sure if the Sultan would accept her party's nomination for her to replace Khalid.

When asked if PR would agree to a different candidate should Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah refuses her nomination, Azizah said,"You should ask the Palace. Not me."

Azizah was reported to have submitted a letter to the Palace seeking an audience with the Sultan after Anwar's attempt to get one for her was declined.

She said,"I have also pleaded for His Royal Highness' opinion if there is a need for the speaker to hold a sitting to finalize the MB replacement process."

Statement by PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali on the reasons behind PAS' rejection of Azizah's nomination for the post of MB is nevertheless interesting.

Citing gender was not the reason, he said PKR has been informed of reason behind the party's decision not to pick her.

He said,"No, it is not because of her gender.

When pressed further, Mustafa said,"I won't disclose. Tak boleh sebut (I can't say)."

It give us the impression that something is/are 'very wrong' with Azizah that, in the eyes of PAS she is not 'qualified' for the post. Gender not reason for rejecting Wan Azizah, says Mustafa Ali

At times, I wonder myself, why are PKR leaders (who have also dragged DAP leaders) seen rushing things and in so-doing, were principle of justice in PR up-held?

Unlike PKR leaders who chose to wash Khalid's dirty linen in public, PAS opted of being 'secretive' of any possible wrongdoing(s) of Azizah, 'bad enough' - that PAS refuses to endorse her MB nomination.

As I have also said, do we have to go to the extreme/limit in humiliating people, especially one that we called 'friend', in public?

What if, whatever information with-held  by PAS about Azizah (if it turns out to be unpleasant) is used against her in the event of a similar recurrence of the Khalid saga?

Anything can happen in politics.

For Khalid, he has nothing more to lose. He has lost his party membership and he knows it's a matter of time that he will also lose the post of MB, but one thing is apparent. He has 'skillfully out-schemed' PKR de factor leader, Anwar Ibrahim.

Before the declaration of the PAS duo, for a moment - We saw how his sacking from PKR even made him 'stronger' (strengthened his position) - not answerable to his former party and it's leaders, including husband and wife pair of Anwar and Azizah.

He has become the power unto himself as evident in his sacking of the five Exco members from PKR and DAP, knowing he could not govern the state without first sacking them.

Even with the declaration of the PAS duo, he still has time to maneuver as the transition process require sometime and there is the so-called 'Palace' factor.

Khalid is seen 'safe' at-least until end of October since State legislative next sitting is in November, unless and until PKR/PR could use other legal ways including the use of the courts to force an emergency sitting.

If you are a fan of Hindustani filems (which Anwar is), the valiant always 'win' at the beginning of the story and the hero would only become victorious, as the film ends.

The fiasco in Selangor which some labeled it being a 'Bollywood affairs' would eventually produce a hero at the end of it's chapter.

As many Muslim members 'lepas gian' (releasing tension) after a month of 'restrictions' to what they craze the most - a daytime 'teh-tarik and roti cahanai', many also releasing their anger over the Selangor political fracas.

Those annoyed with the whole scenario in Selangor never stop from indicating their fear that Azizah would be nothing more than a puppet to Anwar.

The fact that Anwar himself wrote a letter to the Palace for Azizah, seeking her audience with the Sultan reflects his 'grip' over Azizah. Anwar had to withdraw his letter to allow Azizah wrote on her own.

Rise the question, in the event Anwar is behind bars for his sodomy convictions, wouldn't Azizah becoming vulnerable to other 'force' to take over her post as MB?

There is also popular opinion pertaining to DAP's all-out support for Azizah and Anwar's plan. That they had enough with Khalid as he had proven himself to be a hard nut for DAP to crack. DAP would 'love' softer personality as MB and surely, Azizah fits in.

What some have spotted, there seems to be a level of 'mistrust and acrimony' between PKR de facto leader Anwar and PAS president, Hadi Awang, but they are less than certain if it could root from their past engagements.
