WILL TS KHALID BE APPOINTED TO LEAD THE RECOVERY PROCESS OF THE AILING M.A.S.?

It is kind of public/general knowledge that many do like Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, PKR president and wife to DS Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysian Opposition leader.

Her personality is engaging.
She could easily win support especially among her own gender, but yet, many too believed that she is "too small" for the job of a Selangor MB (chief minister).

Some quarters (especially in Selangor) do cultivate the fear that she may encounter constraints to "connect", - not only with her new tasks, but the rakyat (people) - as there seems wide perception that she may end up a "puppet" MB and such assumption is fast becoming popular opinion and views, particularly among Selangorians.

Many are also intrigued to find out how her competency and expertise could possibly steer Selangor to greater heights.

For those disliking and/or opposing her appointment, they tried to vitiate people's acceptance of her following her apparent shortfalls in administrative capabilities/skills, and her relationship to Anwar, despite she being the president of the party.

With strong popular opinion that she could not be at the place where she is today in the absence of Anwar, many believe that without Anwar, her effectiveness in managing the most developed and richest state in Malaysia would become less effective. (Anwar could be behind bars should his sodomy conviction is maintained by the Federal Court).

Meanwhile, incumbent "MB" TS Khalid Ibrahim's success and track record could not be belittled. The acquisition of Guthrie by Permodalan Nasioanal Berhad (PNB), accumulation of state reserve amounting to RM 3.2 billion, consensus agreement of the Langat 2 water projects, acquisition of water concessions by the state government, the 20 cubic meters of water program are part of the successes that have been pioneered by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim as corporate leader and the head of the state Selangor government.

His appointment as the first MB after PR (People's Pact) took over the administration of Selangor after the 2008 general election was believed to be based on his excellent record as a respected corporate leader in Malaysia.

Thus, there was too little voice of opposition/objection when he was chosen to run the state, but his only greatest challenge is perhaps, to control the political passions of greed of several political party members in Selangor.

Many also believed that in his bid to up-hold integrity and transparent governance, he eventually succumbed to internal politicking of his former party which eventually resorted to ousting him from the post of Selangor MB.

On charges of committing "sin" for not listening to the advice of his former party and leaders and defending the integrity of a good governance, Khalid was sacked from the party despite all compliments of his credibility and the fact that he was accepted a life member of the party.

There has already been calls for the Federal Government to lift up his status/image by leading the recovery process of the Malaysian Airlines System (MAS).

His appointment to lead the recovery process of MAS is expected to give more mileage on profitability and image to Malaysia's leading airlines based on his track record and success.

His political "sins" with PKR could well be redeemed and extinguished through his appointment to lead MAS at the same time advancing the interest of the people of Malaysia.

Khalid may not be wanted in PKR, but he could still be wanted by majority of the people. All these while, the "hustle and bustle" about Khalid came from party leaders and not the people, especially the people of Selangor.

Believe it or not, there are even opinions that he would be a good finance minister of Malaysia. Giving him 2 terms, they believed Malaysian economy could prosper.

As far as Wan Azizah for MB, it is very obvious that "opposition" not only coming from section if not most of Selangor people, but top leadership of a party where they are a member of the alliance pact (PR).

The Star Online reported that PAS decision to reject PKR president Dr Wan Aziazah as next MB has nothing to do with her gender, but her capability to be a good leader.

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi said a menteri besar (MB) should fulfill certain criteria and be qualified to hold such a position.
