Further to my last post, I wish to highlight some of Tun Mahathir's provocative & irresponsible allegations, calls and/or statements.
The 22 years premier had, before the 13th general election (GE13) in Royal Town of Klang, insulted Selangoreans & Islam? when he alleged the future and rights of the malays and purity of Islam as a religion will be threatened if Opposition continue to rule Selangor.
His statement is in sharp contrast to the 1Malaysia slogan Prime Minister Datuk Najib tried to carry.
Still, singing old song; the racial song after sowing seeds of racial hatred in his 22 years of rule.
Mahathir also made wild allegation when he said fate of the malays will be pawned if Opposition rule Selangor.
He must have forgoten that he was making the allegation in Klang, Selangor where Umno/BN is indeed the Opposition. From his own statement, can we take it then that if Umno/BN gets the power to rule
Selangor, fate of the Malays will be pawned?
Post GE13, in what PM Najib termed it as the Chinese Tsunami (rejection of majority Chinese voters towards BN in GE13), Dr Mahathir thrown the infamous question "apa lagi Cina mau?, (what else do the Chinese want?) Not enough, he thrown another; "Chinese want to share or seize power?".
The above provocative but many considered it 'racist' has caused displeasure not only to Chinese and non-Chinese leaders in the opposition but Chinese community and members of the public.
Dr Mahathir in his 22 years as prime minister, had many times and in many occasions issued and/or made statements, calls and allegations not only about race but religion of Islam and the Prophet to the extent of what are said to be an insult but because he was too powerful then, all were silent about it.
The list of Dr Mahathir's insults are in public domain and a random Google search under 'Mahathir hina (insult) Islam & Nabi (Prophet), anyone could easily find the list.
Another disturbing issue about Dr Mahathir is what had been revealed in the Sabah citizenship Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) where he was directly involved in 'selling' Malaysian citizenship
to foreigners (non-Malays) just to remain in power.
Without any feelings of shame and sinful to the people of Malaysia, he dragged the late Tunku Abdul Rahman into the matter. Most Malaysian knew the difference between the two and yet he conveniently insulted people's intelligence.
Now we have concerned people such as Permatang Pauh lost GE13 candidate who wanted MACC to investigate Anwar/Karpal Singh at the same breath closed eyes on the wealth & fortune of Umno/BN leaders.
Not long ago, Anwar had dropped a bombshell on Dr Mahathir by saying that it's not impossible for his former boss Mahathir to possess a fortune of as large as USD44 billion which would make Mahathir the world's 2nd wealthiest ex-leader. (report written by Wong Choon Mei, Malaysian Chronicle)
The late Barry Wain in his book revealed that Malaysia lost at least RM100 billion due to corruption during Mahathir's rule which he failed to answer until now.
Will I be surprise to learn more revelations by Tun Abdullah in a book Awakening, Abdullah years in Malaysia ?
Seriously? My answer is NO.
A report that Nurul Izzah Anwar has accepted to launch the book in Singapore made me smile.
Malaysiakini today reported "Dr Mahathir hold his tongue on Pak Lah, for now,"
Lots can be written about Dr Mahathir. Despite all that, many still dancing to his 'tune'. The fact that he has officially retired, Govt of the day should run the country free from any influence or interference of the ex-premier, as revealed by Abdullah. .He has ruled Malaysia for a record of 22 years, his time is over.
