GOOD LEADERS ALWAYS MAKE THE DIFFERECE..

It's appalling when former ministers/chief ministers whom were defeated in general elections (GE) and Umno party polls, whom were getting politically unpopular or non-influential (expired), whom were implicated with scandals and controversies were still awarded key positions in govt agencies and GLCs (Govt Linked Companies) and senators by the ruling BN govt.

Syed Hamid Albar - A former minister with fast declining political strength and popularity was appointed Chairman of SPAD ( Land Public Transport Commission), a statutory body set up to plan for, regulate and enforce rules pertaining to land-based public and freight transport in the country.

A new agency which many seen it as being redundant and a sheer wastage of public funds when Lembaga Pelesenan Kenderaan Perdagangan - LPKP (Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board) has been carrying out the functions before SPAD.

Isa Samad - A former chief minister of Negeri Sembilan and minister of Federal Territory who was suspended by Umno party for being guilty of money politics, returned to the fold and was selected to contest the Jempol, Negeri Sembilan parliamentary seat in GE13 of which he secured victory. However, in recently
concluded party polls, he lost the Umno veeps' race with a humiliating number of received votes. 8 votes out of 191 divisions nationwide.

Isa is now the Chairman of Felda (Federal Land Development Authority) succeeding his predecessor, Mohd Yusof Noor.

Abdul Rahim Tambi Chik - A former chief minister of Malacca who was once implicated in an underage rape scandal controversy. He was also one of a three-member group who exposed/reveled Anwar Ibrahim's pornographic video clips which many opined as an act out of vengeance against the latter and also an act to 'butter' prime minister Najib for possible personal gains.

Rahim is the Chairman of Risda (Rubber Industry Smallholders Authority).

Mohd Ali Rustam - A former chief minister of Malacca for 13 years before being ousted in GE13 when he lost the Bukit Katil, Malacca parliamentary seat to a young challenger from People's Pact (PR).

Even before he could find a healer, he was bitterly and utterly 'dumped' in Umno veeps' race when his own state Umno divisions were reluctant to vote him for the vice president post.
Getting the least votes (7 out of 191) is indeed humiliating to the core.

Mohd Ali has made the Headlines over his son's wedding while he was still a chief minister of Malacca. The eight-hour wedding banquet which were reported to have attracted 130, 000 guests and earned a place in Malaysia Book of Records carried food bills of hundreds of thousand. The said wedding has come under intense public scrutiny.

In another development, Kuala Lumpur deputy CID director ACP Khairi Ahrasa was reported to have confirmed that a sedition case has been opened against Moh Ali for his remarks allegedly made at a Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) function on Oct. 8.

Despite all the above he was recently sworn in as an appointed senator for a three-year term. This is his first time being senator.

Other than the abovenamed, there are saveral more leaders seen as less effective, lacking in leadership quality, controversial/scandalous and Mr Yes Men still at the helm of various govt agencies and GLCs.

Ironically, PM Najib "see nothing, do nothing" to rectify and take appropriate measures. Some quarters opined that was part of cronyism and nepotism that has been the culture in BN long-reign of Malaysia.
Especially so from the era of nation's 4th prime minister, Mahathir Mohammad.

Mahathir's recent meeting with influential personalities at his residence is now widely spoken. He met former Kuala Lumpur CID director Mat Zin Ibrahim and senior lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.

Also present were his former political secretary Matthias Chang and former CID (Commercial Crime) division director, Ramli Yusuff.

The meeting was about the misconduct of none other, Abdul Ghani Patail the Attorney General. The discussion centered to Anwar Ibrahim's black-eyed, his sodomy 1 trial and the issue of Batu Puteh which Malaysia lost it to Singapore in the ICJ. Abdul Ghani represented Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Ramli has filed summons against Abdul Ghani, Musa Hassan (ex-IGP) and 10 others for ill-intent prosecutions.

Mahathir also targets Abdul Ghani alleging 2 CIA agents are working at the AG's office.
Few years of late, Abdul Ghani has been a subject of intense criticisms by various quarters for allegedly soliciting selective prosecutions and possessing absolute power in determining prosecutions.

Apart from Anwar's sodomy & corruption issues, Abdul Ghani was also criticised in various other cases such as the Altantuya Shaaribuu murder case. Following that, there have been rampant calls for his
resignation.

Former AG Abu Talib Othman at the meantime said, those with evidence of Abdul Ghani's misconduct ought to lodge police report and not discrediting the AG. He was saying in response to media reports that Mahathir has held talks with influential people at his residence.

Vateran lawyer and DAP member of parliament for Bkt Gelugor Karpal Singh said, police should immediately investigate the allegations without having to wait for a police report. He stressed that in the past, police had commenced investigations on their own initiatives after reading media reports.

Meanwhile, PAS rejects an AG whose integrity is questioned. Ahmad Zamri Asa'ad of PAS said, the nation should not have a prime legal advisor whose integrity is being questioned. He further said, irrespective of Mahathir's motives PAS opines the govt ought to open file aginst Abdul Ghani for thorough investigation.

Malaysians do not expect perfection, sufficed if people could have excellence leaders whom could bring Malaysia to a greater heights.

Like the popular saying, 'Fish rots from the head' thus it is fundamental to have competent people at the helm of govt and all it's agencies, inclusive all GLCs.
