CORRUPTION = COMMISSION?? MUST BE A NEW TERMINOLOGY.

Australians called it unit, Americans called it apartment and British called it flat.
Whether it's unit, apartment or flat - it is still, a pigeon-hole building that accomodates residents who call that homes.

I had a smile when my Malaysian friend, in his comment to my last post said,"Corruption=Commission".

At that instance, I recalled one of Malaysian Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's speeches. He said,"In Malaysia, if a policeman solicited RM10 from road offender, it's called corruption but when government leaders solicited by the millions from deals and contracts, it's called commission".

It also reminds me of Malay popular saying that goes,"Cara tidak menghalakan perbuatan" simply means, ways and means don't justify the act.

I wonder, is it the terminology that has made it difficult for the anti-corruption agency to secure convictions?.

Lets look closer how dictionary simply defines corruption and commission.

Corruption.

1. Dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.
2. The process by which a word or expression is changed from it's original state to one regarded as erroneous or debased.

Commission.

1. A fee for services rendered based on a percentage of an amount received or collected or agreed to be paid.
2. A fee charged by a broker or agent for his/her service in facilitating a transaction in sales and purchases.
3. If you are a sales person - The amount of money that an individual receives based on the level of sales he or she has obtained. The sales person is provided a certain amount of money in addition to his/her standard salary based on the amount of sales obtained.

A government leader is no broker, agent or sales person - Thus, it is inappropriate to call it a commission. However, it may be called commission in the event a government leader appoints for himself a proxy. 

For majority women, their emotions would be haunted with grave concerns whenever the subject of menopause is mentioned.

By this time - A woman will look aged following significant physical changes and her role at home and society would also change. 

Menopause is a natural physiological changes every woman will have to go through when they reach their average age of 50.

At this point, their reproductive system can no longer produce female egg cells neccessary for reproduction. In short, a woman at this stage, by norms, can no longer bear any offspring.

Now, for those involved in corruption, won't their emotions also be haunted with sins they committed as they entered their twilight age?.

What is certain is the fact that wealth amassed from corruption will still have to be left behind when they are carried to the grave.

Believe it or not, they cannot even use their wealth to install an air-conditioner inside the grave to cool their dead body while waiting to rot. 

Ownership of their monies, mansions, luxury homes, posh cars and others will soon be transfered to their wife(ves) and children. Later, they might also be haunted with fear of the sins for abetment of enjoying the wealth that they knew it's roots, at their twilight ages.

The wife(ves) and children who are not involved in corruption now have to bear the sins left by the corrupted love ones. 

You may have read articles of world leaders implicated and convicted with corruptions and power abuses at the end of their power and how they lived at the end of their life.

Following are the common calamities they received on earth for their actions prior to their deaths ;-

1. Suffering from chronic illness.
2. Languished in prison.
3. Living in exile.

We expect awareness would always be with our leaders so that they serve with sincerity and honesty not only to benefit themselves, but the nation and people.

Now is the time,"sleep football, eat football, drink football".

Whether you are a football hardcore fan or not, since world cup is a world phenomenon, you may not be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the ongoing world cup.

It is during this time that you would find many coming to work either late or with red eyes due to lack of sleep watching football.

Ball. people can go crazy chasing a round ball on the field. Running around the whole field for a round ball to achieve their objectives.

It made me thinking, if corruption is like the round ball on the field, no wonder why people are chasing it. People would go crazy or would be crazed by the "ball" because people are never contented although they have got it (goal). Already got a goal, they want more goals!.
