"Berat mata memandang, berat lagi bahu yang memikul", simply means - Only people in distress knows the real agony, thus, watching images of cries & tears of grieving family of MH17 on TV bulletin on Tuesday, choked me. Images of destruction, roaring cries of pains of Palestinian men, women and children not only choking, but raises outrage in me.
Choked seeing the suffering they are going through, outraged with the brutality on innocent people, but no matter what my feelings are, its never the same as theirs - victims to act of the uncivilized.
Brutality that took place in two separate locations, but geared towards one direction - terrorism.
Blatantly ignoring values of humanities, they brutally, without the slightest compassion, took all lives aboard flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine and killed and injured Palestinian men, women & children in Gaza. Lives of those who are not part of the conflicts.
In both situations, it looks that they (terrorists) are "protected".
When can the world has order and when can world live as one? It's like waiting for "snow to appear in the mid of summer." Yes, a miracle where only with God's will can it happen and meanwhile countless innocent lives are tagged to terrorism. Thus, do we need to be convinced to condemn terrorism?
Backtracking the stone-age, we are way too far civilized, and yet, some acted like the uncivilized in the guise of power and greed. The more world developed, the more it's occupants turning into beasts.
Remember Pol Pot? So are world known dictators,do I need to elaborate? The United Nations is seen as if, unable to contain, let alone stop the hostilities. Meanwhile, super power nations are also seen more of being rhetoric.
Coincidentally, the mysterious disappearance of flight MH370 had, to some extent, swayed public's attention on recent issues that has plagued the country such as price hikes, implementation of GST (goods service tax), issues related to race and religion which at one stage reached a "worrying" level.
Mainstream media (electronics and print) is giving wide coverage of MH17 with too little or none of recent issues find it's space. Ironically, mainstream media could still find space to "squeeze" reports implicating People's Justice Party's (PKR) plan to replace incumbent chief minister (MB) of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
I have always try to avoid main stream media bulletins, but it's difficult to do it in the month of Ramadan as I have to break my fast at the near-by restaurants. They made TV screens available and when prime news at 8pm came on air, it's the time when I'm about to finish-up with my break-of-fast.
I like to think that everybody makes mistakes including Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his bickering party members. As far as my own mistakes are concerned, I'm thankful to God for still lending me with a life. I realized of my past mistakes and work towards rehabilitating myself other than being remorseful and I do realized, how some of my past mistakes had affected my children, but it's all done and cannot be undone.
For national leaders, their stake is always higher. Not only some of their mistakes would affect their families, but people at large. That give them the reason to use their intelligence for the right reasons.
Believe it or not, Bill Gates is among top 10 college drop-outs and yet, he is one of the wealthiest, if not the wealthiest, men in the world. Back home, the nation has Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong who many said, spoken broken English, and yet, he is among top richest men in Malaysia. Thus, tertiary education and degree doesn't guarantee one's success. When one fails, more often than not, it has to do with intelligence/brilliance.
In one of the many instances, a minister, in his justification on the use of Raja Bomoh (Shaman) to locate the missing MH370 said, it's allowed by the religion (please correct me if I'm wrong).
A statement that is seen misleading if not confusing the general public, especially Muslims.
Thus, taking into account of it's gravity, it is important that issuance of statements about MH17 be made with prudence and precise as not to spark unnecessary speculations or even anxiety especially, to family members of the victims.
Cabinet ministers must not be "too excited" to offer justifications or denials on issues of public importance without first verifying the details.
