What else would you expect Nurul Izzah Anwar to say about her mother (PR's nominated candidate to replace Khalid Ibrahim) Wan Azizah? My mum is better than Khalid
If you happened to be in sales & marketing or at least have some knowledge about sales & marketing - One of the don'ts is NOT TO OVERSELL your products.
I can understand if she's trying to show her support for her mother for the MB post, but to claim as such at the PKR Women Congress.. Is it necessary? Isn't it "over-selling" her mother?
Isn't such claim subjective, if not exaggerated?
If she said her mum is better than Khalid in medicines, I would conveniently give her the benefit of the doubt.
If she said her mum is better than Khalid in cooking, I would still, give her the benefit of the doubt.
Even if she said her mum is better than Khalid in handling a newly born, trust me, I will give her the benefit of the doubt.
Being caring in nature does not make you outstanding in accounting, being a good listener (listening to problems) does not make you exceptional in economy.
On the part her mother would be able to solve problems of Selangor people, well, I decided to reserve my comment.
To claim outright that her mother is better than Khalid when she's not even once tested running a state is "outrages" and I refused my intelligence to be insulted though I could be supporting PR's (People's Pact) coarse.
With due respect to Wan Azizah - Even with her status of being the first woman Opposition leader in the Dewan Rakyat doesn't guarantee her to be the best MB or PM for that matter.
People know if not for Anwar Ibrahim (her husband), it's very unlikely she would be where she is today. But, I'm not surprised if there are party members who would agree and nod their head to Nurul's claim.
Joo Liian Chan (an apparent PKR/PR supporter) in her reply to the related article wrote,"Nurul Izzah Anwar....Don't equate Wan Azizah with Khalid.. Khalid is a fallen 'angel' through his own doings.. Wan Azizah's journey as MB has not even started yet...there can always be a slip between the cup and the lip..
"DSAI (Anwar) was supposed to be in Kajang but it took a twist..but at least she has rolled the carpet to start her new journey..God willing she will put her best foot forward..."
What do you understand from Julian's comment? I'm sure you could digest it and form your own opinion.
Another respond-er put it in cynical way. Santiago Alamanda wrote,"your mother would be the best MB (chief minister). Your father would be the best PM (Prime Minister). You would be the best Finance Minister when PR takes over.
"Your uncles and aunties would be the best to everything. In short everything about your family would be the best.
"The people of Selangor would be very happy they have the best in this country. You colleagues in PR are second best. None can match your family."
I could "vomit blood" if any of Nurul Izzah's supporters would say that the comment by Alamanda is indeed, praises and adulation for Nurul. Surprise not, the fanatics would!
Fazilah Mazlin "derogatorily" if not "sarcastically" wrote,"I think my mum will make a better MB than Nurul's mum. My mum's level of empathy is higher, it rubs on me leading to me not go into divorce..Logic? Of course not. Nothing to do whether she is a woman, a mother or a doctor..."
I regard the comment by Fazilah insinuating Nurul for her divorce and child custody before the Syariah court.
As I have mentioned, not all PR's supporters are parrots or even owls. Do not take supporters' intelligence for granted, what more "taking them for a ride"
Our Prime Minister was ridiculed for his inferior speech sometime ago which became viral not only locally, but at international level.
To me, Nurul's speech is equally inferior. Not careful and prudent, it would reflect her own intellectualism in the eyes of majority people. I hope there won't be any leader of PR would become a subject of ridicules in the future.
To match or edge Umno/BN leaders, PR's must not only be intelligent but seen intelligent - otherwise, they would not be able to offer the difference.
The Malay Mail Online reported over half of Selangor voters would give PR a second chance. It's a good news for us, supporters of PR, but there's every reason for PR to ensure no recurrence of the Khalid saga and that for the new administration in Selangor to showcase their true potentils as the effect and impact would be on the 14th general election.
PR has overwhelmingly won Selangor in 2013 general election, thus winning Selangor is not the real issue.
The real issue is wresting Putrajaya, and PR must take heed from what has happened in Selangor as a "failure" in Selangor after the change of it's MB would lead to a more serious erosion of public confidence and trust.
