P.Uthaya vs P.Waytha

P. Uthayakumar was the founder of Hindraf.

Unlike his brother P.Waythamoorti, Uthaya had just opted imprisonment by choosing not to respond to the sedition charges brought againts him.

At the meantime, P. Waythamoorti had chose the comfort office of the PM's department.

Many knew, Uthaya is strong in character. The four walls may 'break' his body but not his spirit.

Secured his release from Kamunting in 2009, Uthaya is paying the price now (after six years) for the letter he wrote to then British prime minister Gordon Brown. Letter allegedly containing seditious words detrimental to government of Malaysia.

Though ex-leaders of Hindraf apalled at Uthaya's sentence, nothing can stop as Uthaya, the one behind the Hindraf rally, from being jailed as he himself chose not to respond to the said charges.

But forget not, Waytha had also gone around the world criticising Malaysian government. Is Uthaya paying for that too?

In sharp contrast to the above, we have yet to see similar charges againts Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali, Zulkifli Nordin, Umno's newspaper Utusan, ex-judge Mohd Noor and many others.

That has continue to lead the puublic into believing selective prosecution is indeed a reality.

The recent crackdown againts Black505 rallies for instance, action was swift with many now awaiting trials.

Just whe some don't agree with BN and/or govt of the day, that don't make them bad people.
As I had mentioned in my earlier post, people's mindset has changed as evident in GE13.

Datuk Najid called that 'Chinese Tsunami'. Are those not choosing BN bad people? Forget not, in democracy people has the absolute right to choose the next govt. Not necessarily the incumbent.

Are we forgeting too that the BN govt and it's authorities were againts Hindraf? GE13 changed that scenario when in a surprise move, Prime Minister Datuk Najib agreed to meet Hindraf and agreed to accomodate their blueprint. As recognition perhaps, Waytha was brought into the cabinet.

As for Uthaya, many opined that by going to prison for upholding dignity of all Indian is indeed more noble.

Infact, many are more than willing & prepared to contribute should a fund is set up to ease the burden of his family while he is in jail.

Many wonder is he being sentenced twice for the same charges taking into account of his 2 years detention under the ISA.

Uthaya and Waytha are blood brothers. 2 brothers with a common struggle but surely different in fate.

The hard way versus the easy way.  Which one will eventually succeed in achieving their goals?

Only time can tell.
