MALAYSIA - FOR BETTER or FOR WORST?

Will Malaysia be better with National Front (BN) continued governance for another 5 years or so?

This has been much 'debated' by many members of the public at large except perhaps, the Umnos.

Many asked, as they are entering their 100 days as Govt after the 13th general election, what is/are the significant change(s) that has taken or taking place especiall with their 'Transformation' slogan.

What was reported were the possible increase in electricity tariff, proposed increase in taxi tariff, the installation of hundreds more AES cameras, to mention some.

The word 'Transformation' was widely used by BN's leaders, from the highest in hierarchy to division and branch level of the party to convince the rakyat (people) before the general election (GE).

Post GE, the word is now hardly heard to the ears of the people at large.

BN's component parties now seemed vocal in disagreement when leaders of MCA, MIC and others were against calls made by Umno leaders over certain issues. The controversy surrounding 'shower room turned canteen' for instance, we read reports of how the president of MCA, slammed Selangor Umno leader as "dia sudah gila" ("he has gone crazy").

People are not sure at this stage whether there are more undisclosed matter(s) BN's component parties are in disagreement with their dominant partner, Umno.

The Fitch Rating has led Gerakan secretary general voicing out his concern and wants the billions in defense shopping curbed and for the Govt to fix country's negative financial outlook, Malaysiakini reported.

His party's poor performance in the recent concluded GE did not stop him raising his concerns.
And the fact that DPM Muhyiddin was reported of saying BN's internal problems need immediate attention indicates his concern of potential negative impact to the coalition and posibly the Govt.

With Umno general assembly nearing, there will be more calls, statements and slogans by Umno leaders in their bid to gain popularity and support of the delegates in particular and the Malays in general.

We hope that in their effort to champion them, derogatory sentiments detrimental to racial harmony will not be played. Racial sentiments must be avoided at all cost.

The fact always remain on the need for Malaysia to sustain if not enhance the good inter-race rapport to ensure stability.

Without that, it will be chaotic thus making it difficult for the nation to prosper. Many have forgotten or pretend to have forgotten of their own roots. To these people, please wake up. Do not conveniently tell or ask another Malaysian to migrate or return to their ancestors' country.

The BN Govt should have seen voters' rejection in last GE as clear signal of voters' concern of their own performance for the last 50 over years and not turning racial to 'cover' up their own weaknesses.

Forget not, BN also lost many seats in Malay dominant constituencies especially in states of Kelantan and Terengganu to name afew.

It is the people's aspiration of having good Govt with good governance.

Major issues like corruption, independence of the judiciary, abuses of power, cronyism, selective prosecution, oppression, nepotism, independent medias, nation's debt are some of the long-standing issues that may have led to erosion in support from the 'rakyat' (people).

Therefore, how BN Govt would 'fix' damages of the above mentioned will translate the amount of support they will get in the next GE.

There is no need really, to scout for terminology to describe should rejection recur.

After 50 over years since independence, people's awareness of many issues have increased and most importantly people's mental faculties had evolved towards maturity.

Their intelligence is no longer easily insulted.

BN's next 5 years of rule will determine whether Malaysia will go for better or worst.
PEOPLE will be the judges.
