I don't mean to be racial, what more of being racist, but I remembered during the 1998 "Reformasi" movement, participation of the Chinese and Indians are too marginal.
It was Malay majority proponents that have came out in thousands in support of a one man named, Anwar Ibrahim which subsequently turning into a "Reformasi" movement.
I also recalled at one stage when many Chinese & Indian friends simply mocking Anwar with obscene and disparaging remarks, too obscene to be written here though such abusive words are still available in the net.
I remembered too of some wild gossips that claimed when Anwar was Mahathir's "blue-eyed boy", his wife Azizah used to "squawking" to Mahathir's wife Dr Siti Hasmah of Anwar's "back-door" behavior.
With due respect to all the above, I mention these to highlight two things-
- That Chinese community especially the young are widely "involved" in Anwar's organised political rallies or assemblies obviously prior to 13th general election (GE13) to present.
- Like the Malay idiom that goes,"Mulut tempayan bolih di tutup, mulut manusia..??" (They can close jars' mouth, but human??).
Just how great is Anwar to have won the hearts of thousands of Malays including me to stand by him - ever willing and prepared to dare all challenges in-front of us.
I even get annoyed when friends not fond of him threw obscene jokes about him. I guess, it must be a common spontaneous feelings to others too, when someone is close to your hearts.
Irked, I rejected outright all wild gossips about his alleged wrongdoings or personality, but as time passed, it is also becoming noticeable that many started deserting him, including those who were at one stage - his right hand men.
The above demonstrates-
- How dreadful can people's mouth be.
- That people can change.
In both situations, its far beyond our control. Legislation has it's limitations and/or not relevant, as far as the above are concerned.
Thus, the crisis surrounding the Selangor MB post if not resolved amicably, could lead to more people especially the Malays to leave Anwar. It's my personal opinion. It's okay if there is/are people who disagree with me. It's not important to argue over this as the effect would be seen as time pass.
I don't know, just speechless, when it is believed that PKR had attempted to rush Khalid's disciplinary hearing before a Pakatan Rakyat/People's Pact (PR) leadership meeting on Sunday.
Khalid was reported to have lamented the fact that the notice summoning him to the disciplinary hearing required him to explain the "additional" five issues, while the earlier show-cause letter issued to him on Tuesday made no mention of.
"This reinforces my insistence that any accusations made towards me must be stated clearly and in detail. I do not understand how these five issues are related to the 'Kajang Move' that was initially the focal point in the show-cause letter.
"It is also clear that even the disciplinary committee is unsure and inconsistent with regards to my alleged wrong doing," he said - report The Star.

When Anwar's sodomy appeal was rushed by the Federal Court recently, it left his legal team questioning the decision by the court. Why the rush to hear sodomy appeal, ask Anwar's lawyers
I may have sounded "defending" Khalid in my articles relating to the Selangor MB crisis. No, I'm not, but I would be happy if "fairness" is granted in "prosecuting" Khalid as much as Anwar expect fairness in his.
I am rather confused in disagreement with comentary by the Malaysian Insider questioning how does one become the head of a government? And when one does, does one forget the people who supported you and voted you into public office? What is a leader without his followers or supporters?
I have read several comentaries by the Malaysian Insider particularly relating to Selangor MB crisis and TS Khalid, the incumbent MB. It's kind of obvious of TMI's "displeasure" of Khalid and as if "somebody" from the Anwar's division is talking.
I'm sure TMI questions have something to do with Khalid.
Now, Khalid was nominated by his party to the post of MB. No doubt about it. The leadership of PKR has, for the rakyat who voted them in general elections made the decision it considers the best.
And if Khalid seriously lacking in those fields, he may not be re-nominated for a second term immediately after GE13.
Has Khalid forgotten the people who supported him and voted him into public office?
This is the beauty of an author. You could simply find the words to compliment or to condemn any side you choose. Even should a U-turn becomes necessary, the same author find no trouble in doing some adjustments.
It's unfair if not irresponsible to label Khalid forgetting the people who supported him and voted him to public office.
He has indicated he is not happy with the way he's treated. The irony of TMI is, they don't seem critical of the "Kajang Move" that was earlier sold with a different objectives.
Other than the several influential leaders' circle in PKR ("the Kajang Move gang"), has TMI conducted a poll whether PKR party members soudly agreed with their leaders?
Can I ask a question - What are party leaders without the support of party members?
Lay it on the table for us to see what is the percentage of PKR party members, let alone Selangor voters or Selangorians supporting the move to replace the MB.
A Selangorian myself, my personal stance is inline with PAS Syura. Anwar claimed the decision of Majlis Syura PAS to retain Khalid is due to the lack of actual facts about Khalid. Majlis Syura PAS kurang maklumat tentang Khalid, kata Anwar
He said, Khalid is not only a PKR leader and chief minister (MB), but a friend (I'm not sure if the last still relevant) and that he doesn't want to prolong/extend the issue beyond ethics.
His statement "strentghened" of Khalid's wrongdoings and that he (Anwar) has it all. I do not know how Khalid would digest that.
It looks like Anwar wants PAS and others to believe his words without first taking the necessary measure(s) to prove it through the legitimate process. He himself would not want to accept should people do the same on him. He would shout, prove it!
My opinion is, why not sack Khalid rather than putting up so many shows? NO?.
