As mood of Eid Mubarak is fast fading, I'm touched on hearing a story of a boy named Man or more fondly called Boy.
Boy loves his father but he spent his childhood dealing with the consequences of his father's addiction. After his mom died, Boy only had his father and he had to see what happens under the shadow of drug.
Living with constant fear of his father's daily threats for drug, Boy didn't have thechance to go to school, to learn and play like other kids do. He is not responsible for it but he has to carry this burden with him. This influenced his social behavior and psychological development.
The substance abuse made his father fail to enact as a parent, especially emotionally when his son needed the most after losing one of the most important people in his life.
The drugs didn't only imprison a father but also one little boy that had the misfortune of suffering the effects of a life controlled by an addiction.
In the orphanage, Boy has the chance of having someone that looks after him and cares about his well-being, preparing him for his adulthood in the best condition possible.
A father is supposed to be a leader in his own world, responsible and accountable to well-being of his family member(s).When a father became drug dependent, not only his life is ruined but the consequences has to be borne by members of his own family.
Likewise, a leader of a state/nation is responsible and accountable not only to his immediate family, but the people and state/nation.
When a state/nation leader is "drugged" with greed, craze for power, courruption & graft and etc, the effect and impact would be to the people and state.
Aparently, independence from British does not promise independence in thought and deed in some of our state/national leaders.
Craze for power for instance, lead them to blatantly disregard bounds of friends and foes. This is the reality of today. "Soldiers" are used to bring down their foe and would use anything they feel fit, regardless of it's sensibilty.
In their enthusiasm of showing support, they started uttering nonsence and here is one clear example. Please read HERE To me, Hishauddin Rais has just demonstrated his level of idiotic mentality that even clowns in a circus would jeer him.
Masjaliza Hamzah, the Centre for Independent Journalism executive director condemned Hishamuddin's statement.
"We see a slugfest, people wrestling on Twitter and Facebook with foul, disrespectful and irresponsible language, much like Hishamuddin Rais.
"I think it is an indicator that we are still in the third world. Shame on you!" she said.
Now, if people like Hishamuddin is what the opposition have, then, squabbles/bickerings in the party would potentially, becoming inevitable.
One thing still lingering in my mind. How far the letter urging support for Wan Azizah reciprocated by all PKR assemblymen. Reps silent on letter urging support for Wan Azizah
Never mind the chaotic press conference by Ampang MP and PKR women chief - Zuraida, but if it is true as claimed that all PKR assemblymen supported the appointment of Azizah, why is there a need for assemblymen to sign the letter, issued in the form of a statutory declaration?
Many of us perhaps forgotten Kajang former assemblyman Lee Chin Cheh. Scapegoated by the "Kajang Move" how many of us think that he shouldn't be treated the way he had, just to suit the need and interest of the few.
Now, he was reported to have urged the Selangor MB TS Khalid to lodge a formal complain/report to PKR's disciplinary committee should his resignation has indeed violates party rules.
"I here-by urge Abdul Khalid not to ignore his regrets lodging in his hearts. Should he is convinced that I have violated any of the provisions of the party constitution, he has the responsibility to promptly lodge a complain/report to the disciplinary committee.
"I am ready to give my full co-operation to the disciplinary committee and will abide with any decision by the party," he said in a statement. (Translated.)
Earlier, Khalid was reported to have said that action was not meted out against Chin Cheh and insted, he was allowed to contest in branch and division party election when his action disrepute party's good name and image.
What I can see is only the worsening crisis of MB post in Selangor, worsening feud between PAS Temerloh MP Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi and Penang chief minister Lim Guang Eng (both states under PR's rule) and the worsening relations within Pakatan Rakyat/People'sPact alliance of PKR, PAS and DAP.
This is certainly not a good situation for PR with the worst has yet to come.
While Anwar and "the gang" can smile when Azizah is propelled to the MB post soon, and Khalid could only shed his tears and swallow every bit of the bitterness, don't be surprised should similar crisis recur in future.
