IS THERE A LESSON TO BE LEARNT?
When we are faced with situation(s), more often than not - we tend to overlook or forget what we could have said, preached, things that we are against, things we like or don't like to do.
Yes, call it overlooked or forgotten, we tend to resort to mean(s) that could positioned us being seen on the right path, if not the winning situation.
As I have said - NO, No more "Melayu Yang Mudah Lupa" (The Malays who forget easily), the appropriate terminology would be,"Orang Malaysia Yang Mudah Lupa" (The Malaysians who forget easily) and the Selangor MB crisis roots the need for rephrasing it.
In a hasty move to show dominance or majority support of Selangor state assemblymen, Wan Azizah held a press conference declaring that she had 30 out of 56 assemblymen who had signed statutory declarations in support of her nomination as new MB (chief minister) replacing incumbent, Khalid Ibrahim.
They must have overlooked or simply forgotten that in 2009, during the Perak crisis, their (PR) stance was that they needed to go through the process of vote of no-confidence in the state legislative assembly and that the loss of support should not be determined through SDs which was undertaken by Barisan Nasional (BN).
When BN presented the SDs to prove their majority support to the then Sultan of Perak in 2009, PR had strongly opposed the move.
Thus, it would not only be regarded as being inconsistent on the part of PR (People's Pact) to use the same against Khalid, but contradicting should they now claim the SDs being a credible mean to resolve the majority crisis.
And NO, I make this mention NOT because I supported Khalid or BN, but simply to reinforce what I have earlier wrote,"Cakap Tak Serupa Bikin" (Talk different, doing it differently).
As an alternative "coalition" (yet to get approval from the ROS) to BN, which preaches what the BN have been lacking, I feel it's a necessity that they (PR) keep and up-hold whatever they have preached, No?
The Selangor MB crisis has to an extent peeled-off some of the hidden truth which is unbecoming of PR, and should we are analytical enough, what appears in front of us could well be categorically construed as "Cakap Tak Serupa Bikin".
There is certainly a grave difference between supporting for the right cause/reasons and supporting for the sake of supporting, No?
My option now is the former instead of the latter - Perhaps, observations, evaluations and exposures has enhanced my understanding.
My support for the Malaysian Opposition birthed out of my burning desire of seeing changes in this land especially, when BN continued to be distasteful, but I could not, at the same time be tolerant should the Opposition too does not practice what they preach.
If I choose to condone such contradictions, I could be categorized a fanatic supporter who is blind to differentiate and/or segregate between right and wrong.
I believed (I could still be wrong), in this Y2K era, it's rather difficult to find demonstrator(s) who is/are more than willing and prepared lying on the road surface blocking the FRU (Federal Reserve Unit) truck as part of their provocation against the authority as I believed people have got more matured.
Anyone could choose to agree or disagree with me. It's perfectly fine. No problem, really.
Many also believed that even Anwar's aura is fast fading away compared to the year 1998 when he was first sacked from Umno party and the government.
Many also seen the act of claiming majority confidence of the state assemblymen via SD declarations by Wan Azizah is hasty, the press conference itself was convened hastily, the act of the PAS duo was hasty (considering the fact that it's central committee meeting is scheduled for today, Sunday), the act by several leaders of PR to attack PAS and it's president Hadi Awang hasty - When they could have been more prudent in their approaches including to collectively resolved the matter.
Since the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah is away on an overseas trip, it is very unlikely that the SDs claimed to have been signed by 30 assemblymen have reached the palace.
Not forgetting, despite presence of the SDs, The Sultan of Selangor could always exercise his prerogative to conclude that a vote of no-confidence is the only certitude.
Nonetheless, many of Selangor people still maintained that the political crisis in Selangor rooted from Anwar's Kajang Move and that his insistence on nominating only Azizah has a "hidden agenda" best known to him.
They felt that the political cataclysm and 'brawl' for the Selangor MB post would not cease, even should a snap polls is held.
