CHOICE (choosing govt) is no longer an option.
13th general elections (GE13) has taken place.Result known & gazetted. Barisan Nasional (BN) has returned to power. A new govt has been formed.
Argue until cows come home (allegation of frauds), BN looked set to be the legitimate govt of the day at least, until 2018.
However, I wouldn't know how (i) Election petition (ii) Black505 would impact the above status.Honestly, I'm pessimistic about election petition knowing it hardly in favor of it's petitioners. As Black505 rally, it's a major protest againts the election commission (EC) for alleged fraud and misconduct and I have not heard it's going to overthrow the govt of the day.
Back to BN govt. Govt of Malaysia.
It will be againts democratic principles & values to threaten, indiscriminate or punishing electorate not voting them. Even ignoring their grouses is like a robbery in a broad daylight.
One is simply an idiot (forgive me for the strongly worded) for not knowing and understanding democracy and the purpose of voting.
Thus, I regretted the statement by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyidin who said greater assistance will be given to communities that has voted the BN coalition.
I wish to remind Muhyidin to the fact that those who have not voted BN are still tax-payers. All taxes! If indeed he is admitting of being a 47% DPM, he should make another statement exempting the more than 51% electorate from all taxes.
So much has been said about Transformation by BN leaders before the election and yet, we have a DPM transforming backwards.
PM Datuk Najib too made promises & pledges before election such as allowing Chinese school to exist.
With Chinese Tsunami ( terminology he used to describe majority Chinese rejected BN).
I wonder if such promises & pledges will now be honored or ignored.
I like to believe that the Chinese were not under any obligation to vote BN. The same apply if it was the Malays or Indians.
Taking into account DPM Muhyidin's statement, I would not be surprised if the Chinese is racially profiled.
My next wonder is the call for reconciliation. How in the world would reconciliation (if there is) be effective with unreasonable statement that cotradict with such intent?
My last wonder is 1Malaysia.
Has the effect of Chinese Tsunami affected 1Malaysia concept?
Will that be a reason for BN to discard promises & pledges?
What happen to 'Janji di tepati'? (promises delivered)
WHAT ELSE DO I WANT?
Nothing much.
i) A govt for ALL
ii) Govt with a good governance
iii) A clean govt - Not only clean but seen clean.
iv) A govt that reforms & transforms
v ) A govt that uphold the rules of law - Not rules of the jungle
vi) A govt that restores the independence of the judiciary, press freedom, democracy
vii) A govt that is free from corruption, cronysm and nepotism.
Too much to ask from a citizen? Believe me, I'm not alone.
