DSAI's Sodomy II - "Do or Die?".

Malaysiakini/RK Anand/July 22, 2013.
Zaid: Anwar's objection frivolous and pathetic.

He wonders if the opposition leader is rattled by Muhammad Shafee Abdullah's appointment or if the objection is a delaying tactic.

N. Surendran a PKR veep as saying legal ethics dictate that a prosecutor is a minister of justice and is expected to show fairness.

Datuk Zaid, an ex-law minister with the ruling party has welcomed the move by AGC in appointing senior lawyer Shafee Abdullah to lead the prosecution team in an appeal against high court's judgement in Anwar's sodomy II.

Firstly, Zaid is entitled to his own opinion, likewise -Others.

Secondly, it's the right of the AGC to appoint anybody whom they feel fit for a determined task.

Thirdly, it will be surprising if the prosecution is indeed lack of quality prosecutors. Even if that's the reality, why now -in Anwar's case?

There is no question that they (prosecution), can or will appeal. They can contest to the highest court of this land. The only 'weird' part (to me at least) is, why only in Anwar's case do they realised the need for 'quality' prosecutor?

Is it a co-incidence? Are they telling or implying that their existing prosecutors are less competent?

What about the previous lost cases? Why the idea was not applied?

If Zaid can question whether or not Anwar is rattled, can we ask him  if the appointment of  Shafee Abdullah may be made because the case itself is 'weak' and that the need for an 'extra-ordinary' prosecutor arises in order to ensure Anwar will be guilty as charged at any cost?
Correct me if I am wrong.

Unlike Zaid (founder Zaid Ibrahim & Co), I'm not a lawyer myself but do I have to be a lawyer to understand logic?

Zaid said, he's talking fact and not defending Shafee Abdullah. Likewise, I'm not defending Anwar either.

As an ordinary Malaysian, I can't help myself for trying to understand thing(s) I see as peculiar happening in this country.

If prosecution could go extra miles to ensure their victory, the same should be accorded to the accused in defense.

Fourth and lastly, my political partisanship aside - If I can make a wish, I would want Anwar's sodomy case(s)  be dealt with once for all.

In the name of justice, it's also my wish to see Anwar's sodomy be tried fairly with no political interference what more, ill intent.

No one should be above the law. Law for all Malaysians including the rich, famous or the powerful.

Perhaps, the same move could be used on 'tough' cases especially corrupt relative or those with power.

As for Zaid, I have nothing personal against him. It's so happened that I beg to differ with his statement.

I would not conclude his statement as being prejudiced but I opined it's not fair to question if Anwar is rattled, even if he does.

There are many who sit at the comfort and safety of their homes and criticized others even though they have not experience what they are criticizing.

It's like when someone who acts or behaves they know better when they don't know what they are talking about.
